Yiğit Fidan: "I aim to return to Fenerbahçe in the best possible way"

Yiğit Fidan, a young defender for Pendikspor in the Trendyol First League, spoke to an İhlas News Agency (İHA) reporter. The 20-year-old shared his thoughts on the new season, his future goals, and his career plans. Fidan began by stating that they've prepared well for the season in training camp, saying, "Our team and teamwork are very good. Everything is going well right now, and I hope it continues that way. I'm one of the youngest players on the team. Despite this, my coach trusts me, and he makes me feel it. We're actually a younger team, and that's reflected in our dynamism on the field. My chemistry with my teammates is going very well right now."

"MY GOAL IS TO PLAY FOR FENERBAHÇE"

Fidan, who is playing for Pendikspor on loan from Fenerbahçe, stated that he wants to have a good season and return to Fenerbahçe ready. He continued: "My goal is to play for Fenerbahçe. I'm trying to prepare for that. For me, that's the highest level in Türkiye. I also congratulate Yusuf Akçiçek from here; it's a huge achievement. My primary goal right now is Pendikspor. I want to have the best season possible. I want to play with my team as long as I can, win the championship, and then return to Fenerbahçe in the new season. I aim to return to Fenerbahçe in the best possible shape."

The young footballer also touched upon his relationship with Pendikspor's manager, Uğur Uçar, saying, "Coach Uğur called me before taking over. He said he wanted me here. He explained his thoughts about the team, me, and my role within the team. He gave me that trust. Thankfully, everything is going very well right now. I'm trying not to disappoint him."

Fidan also shared his thoughts on Bursaspor, where he came through the youth academy, saying, "I follow Bursaspor, and my brother plays there. After all, that's where I earned my living, and I love Bursaspor very much. I hope they get to the position they deserve. The fans are very supportive, too. I hope everything turns out well for them."

Speaking about his role models as a defender, Yiğit Fidan said, "I grew up watching Sergio Ramos. I currently follow Virgil van Dijk constantly. Among those playing in Türkiye, I take Milan Skriniar as my role model. I always watch Fenerbahçe matches. I really like Merih Demiral. I followed him closely when he transferred to Juventus. I also take him as a role model. I always watch him during international matches."

Fidan, stating that he, like every Turkish footballer, aims to play for the National Team, concluded his words by saying: "My biggest goal, like every Turkish footballer, is to play for the National Team.
